He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and he was a member of Saint Paul of The Cross Parish. Born in Scranton, he was the son of Joseph P. Foley, 61, a resident of South Scranton, died unexpectedly Sunday evening in Geisinger CMC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Friends may call Monday from 9 to 11 at the Funeral Home. A Blessing Service will be conducted Monday at 11 AM in the August J. Also surviving is his sister Roseann Gordner and husband Frank, Benton, and nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Pat was a collector of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars since his younger days. He was employed for 37 years at Tobyhanna Army Depot. He also attended Northampton County Community College. He was of the Catholic faith and was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Vincent and Ann Ruggiero Beggane. His wife of 33 years is the former Lori Hulbert. Beggane, 63, a resident of Carbondale, died Wednesday at Geisinger CMC after a long illness. He loved Mass, coffee hour, afternoon programs and trips. Not long after moving to the Assisted Living he called everyone by name - staff and residents alike. He loved crossword puzzles and the challenge of large jigsaw puzzles but most of all he loved people. ![]() He defeated many competitors through the years and had been affectionately known as the Chess Champion of St. You would not have much luck in a game of Chess with Donald. He worked every year at the Church's annual Spaghetti Dinner. Francis of Assisi Church in South Scranton until its closing where he served as an usher at the Saturday Liturgy. He was a regular member of the Mercy Bowling Team. He prided himself on his many friends and co-workers and his outstanding attendance record. Immediately upon graduation he actually walked up the street to the Mercy Hospital where he worked in Dietary for 46 very happy and enjoyable years before retirement. He was a proud "Tech" alumnus having been voted "Everybody's Best Buddy" by his classmates. He was a successful graduate in 1967 of Scranton Technical High School. Donny was prepared by his parents and siblings, Bill and Paul for all that life would bring. Donny was a classic example of someone who never let his developmental disability interfere with his many and varied accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his parents William H.& Teneta Nish Burke. ![]() Donny was born in South Scranton in 1948 and lived there until moving to the Assisted Living facility at St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home on July 31st, 2023 at the age of 74. Donald (Donny) Burke passed away peacefully at St. ![]()
